Important Information, Changes to Appointments, Prescriptions and Online Services during April 2023

System Change

We have planned an upgrade to a new computer system during April & May 2023 to improve the care the surgery provides. During the upgrade there will be temporary changes to how we manage some services, you may also see unfamiliar NHS staff supporting our team.

Prescriptions πŸ’Š

Requests: If you expect to run out of medications between Monday 17th April and Monday 1st May, please submit these requests early prior to Friday 14th April. We will have reduced ability to process repeat medications at this time. Our dispensary team have brought in temporary additional measures to help ensure any dispensing is handled as smoothly as possible.

Appointments πŸ“…

From Monday 17th April and Friday 28th April our clinician time will be focused on our long-term plans for care while ensuring we still cater to urgent care needs. Some clinics will not operate such as; routine blood tests, long term condition review (e.g. Asthma) and pre-booked GP appointments.

Online Services πŸ’»

GP Online Services will not be available during our upgrade and ‘Patient Access’ will be permanently unavailable; if you use this you will need to sign up for a replacement GP Online Service to use with our new computer system. Start using the NHS App today.

If you are trying to register with the surgery during our system change you may be asked if you have any immediate care needs, if not we will delay adding your registration to our surgery until early May. If things change and you need to contact us, tell our reception team you've already handed in your registration pack.

Running out of your regular medication before you register?

If you have regular medication and are still registered with a GP surgery elsewhere, please contact your current surgery. You can ask them to send a final prescription electronically and they can either send this to a specific pharmacy of your choosing or you can ask them to leave it "on the NHS Spine" (this means you can collect your medication from any NHS pharmacy, but they cannot prepare it before you arrive; if you know it, have your NHS number with you as this can help the pharmacy find your electronic prescription). Unfortunately, these prescriptions cannot be dispensed by our surgery. Once you are registered in May, our dispensing team can help with your medication needs.
